What Is UV Pipe Lining?
UV pipe lining is a trenchless pipe repair that puts a new pipe inside your damaged pipe. A flexible liner soaked in resin goes into the old line, inflates against the pipe walls, and hardens as ultraviolet light passes through it. What’s left is a smooth pipe with no seams for roots to find.
It’s a type of cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining. Instead of steam or hot water, UV CIPP uses light to set the resin, so the crew can control the cure as it happens. It’s a particularly effective fit for cracked, leaking, and root-damaged clay, cast iron, and PVC pipe.

How the UV Pipe Lining Process Works
Most of the work happens inside the pipe, not in your yard. Here’s what a typical UV sewer pipe lining job looks like, start to finish.
01
Camera Inspection
A sewer camera inspection shows the cracks, roots, and weak joints inside your line. You see the footage too, so you know what’s wrong before any work begins.
02
Pipe Cleaning
Roots, scale, and buildup come out first. Hydro jetting clears the line so the liner can grip the existing pipe.
03
Liner Prep and Insertion
A fiberglass liner is wet out with resin prior to curing, then pulled into place through an accessible entry point, like a cleanout.
04
Inflate and UV Cure
An inflatable bladder presses the liner tight against the host pipe. Then the UV pipe lining system moves a light train slowly through the line, and the liner cures as the light passes.
05
Reopen and Final Check
A robotic cutter reopens any side connections, and the camera goes through one last time. You get to see the finished pipe for yourself.

Built Better From the Inside Out
UV lining means fewer surprises, both on the day of the job and in the years after it.
Controlled Cure
The crew tracks the UV light train as it moves through the pipe, so each section of the liner sets under the same conditions. There’s no guessing whether the resin hardened all the way.
Smoother Flow
The cured liner leaves a slick, joint-free inside wall. Waste moves through more easily, and buildup has less to grab onto, so clogs are less likely to keep coming back.
Reaches Hard-to-Dig Pipes
Lines running under driveways, sidewalks, parking lots, or mature trees can be repaired from the inside, right where they sit.
UV Cure vs. Traditional CIPP (Steam or Hot Water)
Both methods put a new pipe inside the old one. How the liner hardens changes how long the job takes and what equipment shows up in your driveway.
UV Cure
UV light hardens the liner.
Cures in minutes per section
Needs a UV light train, compressor, and generator
Typically lower odor and fumes
Light speed and power tracked as it cures
Traditional CIPP (Steam or Hot Water)
Heated water or steam hardens the resin.
Often takes a few hours to cure
Needs a boiler or water heater, plus a water supply
Odor and fumes are more common with steam venting.
Temperature was watched through the cure.
Heated water or steam hardens the resin.
Traditional CIPP is still a solid choice for plenty of lines, and we offer CIPP lining too. The condition of your pipe decides which method fits.

Why are your drivers (company trucks) running STOP signs in residential neighborhoods with children present? This happened at 4:55 PM Saturday March 28th 2026 in Mendon, Utah. Driver was in a white shirt and tie headed to the church of Jesus Christ latter-day Saints If I see your company trucks running the stop sign in my neighborhood again I’m turning that license plate into the police ! NOT HAPPYPosted on Google![]()

Scott is the man!! We had been dealing with low water pressure for a month. After talking to the city twice and a visit from a plumber. We were referred to excavation companies to dig up our front yard. After finding out the cost of excavation, I decided to call Restore Pipe Systems. Scott showed up the same day and took a look at our valves, and water tank. He got those broken items replaced in no time and contacted the city for me. He stayed and told them what he had found. It was not a pipe in my yard after all, but we had low flow from the city. I felt so relieved of stress, less money out of my pocket, the job was done and we're back to full pressure showers again! Thank you Scott! Restore Pipe Systems will be my go to from here on out.Posted on Google![]()

A diamond pendant that belonged to my mom fell off the chain and into my sink; it was a family heirloom. My granddaughter has worn it for special occasions, proms, graduation photos, etc. We were heartbroken and sick!! Restore Pipe Systems was referred to me by a friend, thank goodness! Scott came out; he located it in 10 mins at no charge! What a fantastic company, so kind and compassionate!! Thanks again, Scott!
Why Choose Us
Here's Why Our Clients Love Us!

Because we dig so little, you don’t pay to replace big sections of lawn, landscaping, or concrete. You also skip the cleanup costs that come with the bigger mess of traditional pipe replacement.
Most pipelines can be fixed with minimal to no digging. When digging is needed, it’s usually just 2 small holes, one entrance pit where the work starts and one exit pit where it ends.Â

Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
What are the signs of a cracked sewer line?
Slow drains in more than one fixture, gurgling toilets, and sewage smells are the usual clues. You might also notice soggy patches in the yard or backups that keep coming back. A sewer camera inspection confirms the crack and shows how serious it is.
Should I repair or replace my sewer line?
It depends on the pipe’s condition. If the line is cracked, leaking, or full of roots but still holds its shape, lining it is often the simpler fix. If a section has collapsed, replacement or pipe bursting may make more sense. The inspection footage shows which way to go.
Is trenchless repair worth it?
For many homeowners, yes. Trenchless sewer repair works through small access points, so you skip tearing up the lawn, driveway, or sidewalk and paying to put it all back. The work usually moves faster, too. The right fix still depends on your pipe’s condition.
Is UV lining better than traditional CIPP lining?
It’s not better for every pipe, just different. UV lining cures faster, requires less equipment on your property, and gives the crew tight control over the cure. Steam or hot water CIPP still works well in many lines. Your pipe’s size, length, and condition decide which one makes sense.
What types of pipes can be lined with UV?
UV lining works in most round sewer and drain pipes, including clay, cast iron, and PVC. It’s a reliable match for older lines with cracks, root intrusion, or leaky joints. Fully collapsed pipes, sharp bends, or badly misshapen sections may need a different fix. A camera inspection confirms whether your line qualifies.
Can UV pipe lining fix tree roots and cracks?
Yes, as long as the pipe still holds its shape. We clear out the roots and debris first, then line the pipe so the cured liner seals over cracks and gaps and leaves no joints for roots to work into. If the pipe has fully collapsed, another trenchless option, like pipe bursting, may be a better fit.
Will UV sewer lining damage my yard or driveway?
In most cases, no, because UV sewer lining needs minimal to no digging. We usually work through an existing cleanout or one or two small access holes. Your lawn, trees, and driveway remain in place while we install the new pipe underneath.
How long does UV-cured pipe lining last?
A properly cured liner is built for a long service life. It won’t rust or corrode, and it has no joints for roots to pry open. How long yours lasts depends on the pipe’s condition and how the line is used, and we’ll cover what to expect during the inspection.
